Oshikiami Net Fishery & Cooking Experience (1 night and breakfast incl.)
Mie has a long history in fishing and is ranked as one of the largest producers in Japan(No 5 in 2011). This tour takes you to Nakiri Oshikiami Net Fishery in Shima city in the early morning and then to cook local cuisine at a fisherman or fisherwoman’s home.
Highlights

On board the fishing vessel: At 4 o’clock, early in the morning, get on board an actual net fishing vessel and leave Nakiri port with some fishermen. Watch the fishermen work on site, taking nets out of water deeper than 27 meters.

Visit Nakiri Fish Market: Back at the port, the fishermen unload the fish. Depending on the season, the fish includes Aji(horse mackerel), Iwashi(sardines), Isagi and Saba(mackerel).

Cook local cuisine: At a fisherman/woman’s home near the market, cook local cuisine together and have it for breakfast.
