    Day 1Learn about Japan’s food culture and how the Japanese view nature.

    Meet your guide at Iseshi Station at 12 noon and travel some 30 minutes by private vehicle to a local salt producer. Discover how the manufacturer expresses his views on nature through the production of salt. Enjoy learning how to make traditional onigiri. Next, head to Ise Grand Shrine (Geku; Outer Shrine) for prayers and to learn more about the Outer Shrine, where a deity for food is enshrined. At 3:30 pm, visit a traditional Ise netsuke maker. Enjoy observing him work while he recounts episodes of his life. Return to your hotel at 5:30 pm to freshen up. At 6:30 pm, leave your hotel by private vehicle and head to a local restaurant for a special dinner prepared by a celebrated Ise chef. After dinner, return to your hotel
    Day 2Experience Japanese spirituality at this one-of-a-kind holy sanctuary.

    Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel at 7 am. After changing into traditional Japanese clothing, travel some 10 minutes by private vehicle to Ise Jingu (Naiku; Inner Shrine) to enjoy a performance of kagura ritual dance (approx. 1 hour required). After a special visit to the shrine’s sanctuary, walk to the popular district of Oharaimachi. Here, feast on street food, stop for lunch at one of the many eateries, and stock up on souvenirs before changing back into your clothes and returning to Iseshi Station by private vehicle.
